That really sucks. Why couldn’t you visit the apartment in person first? |

I visited the apartment complex a month ago when looking around and the one they showed me had wood flooring, so it would make sense to assume that the apartments had wood flooring, minus the bedroom. But I have a feeling they just have it in the models to make it look nicer, which if that is the case is a total piece of bull. |

I think most apartments have carpeting or linoleum because hard wood floors are very easily ruined. Definitely make sure you point out the spot from them so they can’t take from your deposit (I’m assuming there was one). For what the apartment costs there should be no spots on the carpet and no dead bugs. Having to have an exterminator come beforehand is not a good sign. Once an apartment complex has bugs it is very hard to get rid of them because it spreads like wildfire. If your apartment has blinds you might want to consider taking them down and putting up curtains if your cats like to hang out in windows because they will get destroyed. My cat ruined the blinds at every apartment she was in and they charge you for it. I’ve lived in apartments my whole life (in over 20!) so if there’s anything you need to know I’m the person to ask. |
