So there’s this thing called the squee factor

I must first explain the squee factor so that my rant (or so it will probably turn into) will be understood. With me, when I watch anime mostly, there is this thing called the squee factor. I see anything about the anime and I just squee (either on the inside or actually do it, usually just on the inside.) This is such with FMA: B, as I recognized the other day. It’s almost to episode 20 and I’m still in squee mode. When the OP started I was super squeeing, during the entire epic episode I was squeeing. Even during the Mustang parts I was squeeing, despite not being a huge fan of him. Squee mode is even engaged during the ED, although not so much (I love the animation, but the song is a bit iffeh.)

And now there’s 17

My family needs to do something soon, or some people need to be kind souls and adopt a kitten. Somehow Sakura, the mother of the first batch of kittens we found outside got pregnant (read my parents let her out a couple times because she wanted to despite me telling them otherwise and she got knocked up) and she just had her kittens yesterday. She had five. It didn’t look like she was big enough for five kittens, but there are five healthy little kittens. One of them is even a tortoiseshell, like Tortellini. It’s weird, for the longest time I never saw a tortoiseshell around the house, and now two kittens appear. These five kittens bring the count of cats in the house to fifteen, and we’re trying to get rid of ten of them. Right now they are under the bed. She had them under te bed, but we moved them into the large kennel we borrowed from my aunt and kept them there for the night. But when my parents opened the kennel this morning she slowly began to take the kittens back under the bed. So for now they’re staying there, but when they start to move around we’re going to have to move them elsewhere, because my dad will probably step on one when he gets up in the morning. My parents can’t care for seventeen cats, especially the kittens, and especially way my dad is. We have our grown cats that we have to buy the good food for, since they are ours and deserve good stuff. Then there’s the kittens. It wouldn’t be that bad except my father insists that we feed them wet food, when they don’t need it. It’s cheap stuff, but it gets pricey. He’s stupid and feeds them like six cans a day, when they don’t need it. All the kittens eat dry food, which is much cheaper and they eat throughout the day either way. Plus with the wet food the poo smells horrible and is diarrhea like, I don’t actually think they’ve ever had normal poo. They can’t afford to keep all of them, but we can’t take them to the Human Society because they have so many cats there that any that are taken in right now are automatically euthanized.

A depressing anime day

As the title says, a depressing anime day. Episode 16 of FMA: B came out today, and expecting another long wait, or at least until late tonight, I decided to start up Clannad~After Story~ since I found it again. It was pretty much like Clannad at first, but then it started getting depressing. I knew Nagisa was going to die, a few episodes before it even happened. I half figured because if she has a weak body and is going to have a baby, and then also half figured it’s probably because it’s made by the same people who did Air, and in that Misuzu, one of the main characters that was fated to die in the end, ended up dying. I haven’t gotten too far past that, I’m only on episode 18, but Tomoya is now pissing me off. I was pretty much neutral on him through pretty much all the series, but now he just pisses me off, pretty much abandoning his kid and having Nagisa’s parents raise her, and when is forced to spend time with her he acts cold. I don’t know if he’s going to get any better, but it probably won’t change my opinion of him. Although I must say, the anime as a whole is very strong, I like it.

Good thing I typed these up before

So the blog seems to have been down every time I wanted to post something, and instead of writing some other stuff down, I’ll just use this to post a few thoughts (opinion and rants) about a few things.

First off, episode 15 of FMA:B came out this Sunday (although any subs didn’t come out until Tuesday, and they weren’t the best.) I watched the raws, and the following is based on the raw, meaning I understood very little of it:

I’d say today was overall pretty good

So yeah, I’d classify today as a good day. It didn’t start off so well, but got better. First we went out to lunch as Jason’s Deli, which was yummy. Then we went to Bed Bath & Beyond, and found the storage shelves I want for over my bed at school. My mom says we’ll go back sometime to get them, since she has a twenty percent off coupon. Then we went to the mall, and my parents bought my brother a new bat at Sports Chalet, and then we went to the anime store there. Yet again they had no FMA shirts, except one that I really like but it was a small. I ended up just getting a Haruhi key chain. There was a Tony Tony Chopper plushie from One Piece I also liked, but it was kind of expensive, same with the One Piece and Death Note pillows. But then we ended up going to another store that has a bit of anime/manga stuff in it, and I ended up finding a Gunslinger Girl wall scroll. Naturally I have like no wall room in my bedroom, so it’s now hanging draped over my closet, since I can’t get in it anyway. It has Henrietta, Triela and Rico on it.

This is truly random

I was on ANN checking something and they had something about iTunes now having NANA to purchase. Naturally it would be the dub. I didn’t even know there was a dub until about a week ago, and I watched a 30 second clip of it. Eww. I normally don’t mind FUNimation dubs, but this one I didn’t like. I’m especially impartial about Nana Osaki’s voice. Whoever did it did not do her justice, but I suppose you can’t compete with Romi Paku.

On another note, I was watching Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who, or the end of it really, because I was waiting for something good to come on, and again I had a thought about it. The mother kangaroo in it just screams lesbian. I don’t know why, but I always think that when I watch it. Watch it and you’ll see what I mean.

I have nothing else to say, except naps are nice. Sometimes. Like today.

I’m kind of like really but not overly pissed off right now. I’m still pissed off though. So the grades for summer classes were up today, I got an A in english and a B in calculus. I was happy with those grades. Well, I just checked the GRO policy for the university. First off, to GRO is general I had to have filed the form by June 3rd. Second, you can’t GRO from other schools, so the fact that I got a B in the same exact calculus class, more stuff being thrown on me in way less time yet just because it wasn’t taken there I don’t get a chance to raise it. That’s crap. The A is going to help me, but right now my GPA is only a 2.4, and I don’t think the 3 credits are going to help me get it all the way to a 3.0 so I can keep my scholarship. Now, if I could add the 3 A credits and then replace the 3 E credits, which I didn’t actually get any credit for, with B, then I’d probably be good. I guess the best thing I can do is try to take the class during the regular school year and GRO it then, and since I learned so much over the summer and understood it I might be able to do better. Even a C would be better.

Things keep getting better and better. Today I began to look over financial aid stuff for the upcoming fall semester. I can get 5500 right now, and I’m going to apply for 5500 from a private lender, but I need a cosigner. That should be easy enough, I think. Still, that’s a lot of money. I was hoping to keep my 3k scholarship by getting an A in 102 this summer and GRO-ing my calculus grade, so instead of having that E (or F) in my GPA it would change to a B, which I’m pretty sure I got this summer. But now I’m not even sure if I can do that, since the course wasn’t taken at the school. I’m going to have to look further into it, because it’s the equivalent course, it’s just called something different and taken at community college. I really hope I can, because it will help me out so much. And speaking of school, I only have tomorrow and then I’m done with summer classes. I’m actually not going to English tomorrow, because I finished the last assignment today and turned it in, so if I go tomorrow I’ll have nothing to do. And math it’s just come and get your test and if you’re happy with the grade you get for the class you can go, and if not you can take the final to replace your lowest test grade. I’m fairly confident I got a B on the test I took today, so if I did I won’t bother with the final. Even getting a B is amazing enough for me in calculus. I’m really bad at it.
